vintage affinity

i spent my last weekend in malaysia with my bestfriend, hannah. i mentioned in an earlier post that we've been friends for nearly fourteen years. i love this girl to bits! although she has changed and matured so much since we've been apart, we're still the same cheeky girls we used to be when we're together. it was her birthday the weekend i spent at her house! two of hannah's other close friends, herself and i, went to celebrate at chili's. we had so much food between the four of us, it was delicious. the rest of the week was spent going to the pool, baking cookies, drinking hot coco with marshmallows, singing along to songs she played on her ukelele, watching the olympics, taking pictures, and resisting to go to bed. last week we said good bye as she left for school. i can't count how many times i've had to say good bye to her. i cannot wait to see her again someday. she is a remarkable girl. i love you, hannah!

sophia & faith

years ago, i was a flower girl in the lovely wedding of these two girls' parents, josh and vivian. i remember how excited i was to really be a part of a wedding. i wore a peach skirt, my hair was curled, and i had flowers going all across the crown of my head. but of course no one looked more gorgeous than the bride herself. it was a great wedding, the only one i really remember from my childhood.

since my family and i have been back in malaysia, we have met up several times with josh, vivian, and their two adorable girls. when they came over to our apartment, i took sophia and faith for a little dip in the pool before having dinner. we had so much fun playing in the kiddy pool. i'm very happy the girls let me take some pictures. though sometimes they would tell me, "stefanie, come play with us!" so into the pool i'd go and the splashing would begin!

tasha faye

about a week ago, i met up with tasha for the second time. instead of roaming around the city, like we did last time, we stayed around her neighborhood. as we walked along the sidewalk, we spotted a floral chair under staircases of a parking lot. determined to get to the chair, we climbed down the wall in our skirt and dress. to go along with the chair, we found a pretty wall draped with leaves and flowers, that would serve as the background for our pictures. we were so happy to have a little adventure like this. its not everyday that you find a pretty chair, climb walls into strange parking lots, and all to take pictures. later in the day, we went to a cafe called Upstairs and shared some cake, a vanilla milkshake, and had a lovely conversation. tasha is such a bubbly girl and a wonderful photographer that i am so delighted to know. definitely looking forward to the next time we meet again.
